Why has she leveled up so much? Just like me, she also gains twenty attribute points in every section each time she levels up... Not bad, but how the fuck did she level up so much?

Liam’s eyebrows rose, then slowly drew together as he tried to figure out how she could level up this fast. Just last night, she had been Level 3, and boom, Level 10 in the morning. He glanced from the panel to Clara, then back at the numbers, making sure he hadn’t read them wrong.

Clara, seeing Liam frozen in his tracks, didn’t think much of it. She just hurried over beside him and cleared some space on the coffee table while the room service attendant wheeled the breakfast cart closer.

Taking the folded napkins and cutlery, she arranged a place for each of them as the attendant set down their plates, followed by the fruit and the pot of coffee. Clara shifted the cups out of the way to make room, then looked over at Liam with a smile.

"Sit down."

"Y... yeah."

Liam nodded his head, then realized just how powerful her passive was.

[Passives: To Love Liam James Carter (Actively gains EXP when with Liam).]

It felt like she was cheating in life. Unlike him, who was barely leveling up, she was hopping through levels just by being around him. Liam pulled out a chair and sat down, giving the panel one last glance before dismissing it.

Telling her about all this yesterday was a very good choice. She can help me a lot.

Remembering that Erto was also Level 10 and over seventy years old, Liam smiled. Clara had just become as powerful overnight, and here she was, casually getting breakfast ready without a clue how much had changed.

Let’s eat, then make her rich as well.

After setting down the last dish, the girl who had wheeled in the food cart smiled and was about to leave when Clara stood up and handed her a twenty-dollar bill.

*CLICK*

After thanking Clara, she stepped out and closed the door behind her. The aroma of breakfast filled the room, the smoky smell of bacon mixing with the warm bread and freshly brewed coffee. Liam glanced at the plates, suddenly feeling a little hungrier.

"That was the last twenty I had on me."

"Oh? You still chose to give it away?"

"Yeah, I can’t help it. I feel like she deserved it."

Liam smiled. Clara was kind and gentle when she wasn’t around her toxic group of girlfriends from school. Although he had returned to this life after already completing high school, he still remembered almost everything about those days. Watching her sit back down, he couldn’t help thinking about the girl he used to have a huge crush on.

She was my crush... No man can forget his first crush... She just stays somewhere in the back of your mind... You never really forget... Sometimes a sad song brings her back, and suddenly you’re remembering those days again... Can’t believe I’m actually reliving the moments I used to feel nostalgic about.

Liam felt like there were so many things in his current life he had to be grateful for. He wanted to thank Jesus, but now that he had a system and had come back to life... he wasn’t sure where God fit into all of this anymore. The thought lingered for a moment before his curiosity got the better of him.

System... or Status Panel, can you show me Jesus’s status?

Liam asked hesitantly, unsure whether he would even get a response. In his last life, he hadn’t been particularly religious, but after getting married, he had asked God for help several times.

Seeing there was no response, Liam figured the person needed to be in front of him for him to view their status. He just shook his head, clearing away the weird thoughts filling it. Clara, on the other hand, wasn’t distracted at all, her attention firmly on the breakfast in front of her.

She buttered a piece of the toasted baguette, then spooned some scrambled eggs onto it, spreading them out with the back of her fork. Adding a few strips of bacon and a little black pepper, she placed another buttered piece on top and gently pressed them together. Some egg slipped out from the side, so she pushed it back in with her fork before picking up the warm sandwich with both hands.

Liam, seeing how she had made the sandwich, was tempted to take it for himself, but he held back and made his own instead. He tucked a few strips of bacon between two pieces of plain toast, then dipped one end into the melted butter before taking a bite. This was how he liked to eat, plain and simple.

...

After breakfast, Liam and Clara left the hotel, and Liam took the car keys from her. She had answered the call that morning when the driver arrived to deliver the car, then taken it out for her shopping trip.

"It’s quite nice..."

Clara smiled upon seeing the car again. She felt like her Mercedes was crap compared to this one, the new white Bentayga looking especially clean in the sunlight. Its wide chrome grille gleamed, while the round headlights caught the light beneath the smooth edge of the hood. The white paint shone evenly along its broad sides, with large alloy wheels filling out the arches.

"It is nice..."

Liam smiled. He was planning to give it to her since she liked it so much. He wasn’t that greedy about owning cars. Sure, he liked big cars, so he might give the Mercedes to Megan and buy himself a Tacoma or something.

There was no mission about buying cars this time, so spending money on another luxury car just for himself wasn’t his style. As long as he liked driving it and had enough room inside, that was good enough for him.

Liam started the car, and the six-liter twin-turbo W12 came to life with a deep growl before settling into a quiet hum. He felt a slight vibration through the seat, but it faded almost immediately.

If he didn’t have his God Tier Driving Skill, he would have had to glance at the dashboard just to check whether the engine was still running. Liam smiled and rested his hands on the leather steering wheel; for a car with six hundred horsepower, it was surprisingly quiet inside.

"Where are we going?"

Clara, who had worn a white dress to match the car, fastened her seat belt and asked. Liam pressed the gas, and the car moved onto the street with mechanical precision under his control.

"We’re going to the bank."

"The bank? Hey, is this one of your skills? Driving like this?"

Clara could tell almost instinctively that there was something unusual about Liam’s driving. He was just too smooth, making the car feel like it was flying through the air. Even planes vibrated during a flight, but a car in Liam’s hands never seemed to jolt or jerk, no matter how many turns he took.

"Can I learn it? Like how you made me pretty... Give me this skill too."

"Can’t do that..."

"Stingy bastard... Hmph."
