[Rank: Primordial]

[Description: Genesis is an affinity toward fundamental creation. Rather than controlling an element, the user has an instinctive connection to the principles from which all things originate.]

[The user doesn’t naturally cast fireballs or summon lightning. Instead, they excel at understanding and constructing the building blocks that give rise to those phenomena.]

[Limitation: Genesis excels at constructive synthesis and worse at erasing, deleting, nullifying, corrupting, and breaking things apart.]

’...’

Adam rose to his feet, his hands shooting into his dark hair as he let out the breath he didn’t even know he was holding. He paced around his room, his heart threatening to jump out of his chest.

"Hehe... Haha... Fuck yeah!!"

Unable to hold it in anymore, Adam yelled at the top of his lungs, his hands shooting up in celebration! What the fuck had he awakened?!

Back in the kitchen, his parents looked up the stairs and glanced at each other. Jon flashed a small smile while Jenny had a look of worry on her face.

"Don’t worry, sweetheart. Your son is perfectly sane." Jon replied to her silent question. "Let him have his moment. He’ll be down soon."

Back in the room, Adam lay on his back, staring at the ceiling with a stupid grin on his face. Today was essentially the greatest day in his entire life! Too bad he could not go around telling anyone who would lend an ear!

His friends were going to be so jealous if they ever found out.

His affinity was just as broken as his other aspects. It was like the universe had chosen him or something. Adam had never heard of anything like a primordial affinity before. Just the name alone made it clear that it was an overpowered affinity.

"The ability to construct anything so long as I understand it..." Adam was on cloud nine. "I might just have the strongest affinity there is!"

Three different aspects that connected so well. The synergy was not lost on him. His skill governed the mind, the physique governed the body, while the affinity governed energy.

It was perfect.

"The world has never seemed so clear..." he muttered to himself, not aware of how true his words were.

With Genesis and First Principle, there was almost nothing out of his reach. Why would he envy something with a powerful affinity when all he had to do was take time to understand how the ability works and recreate it?

But it doesn’t end there. He could make it better, evolve it beyond what an ability was limited to. Then there was the possibility of combining it with other abilities to create something more powerful than the individual abilities alone.

His affinity’s potential was massive. If developed right, it could become the most potent affinity in the world... no, in the universe.

The limitations listed that Genesis did not excel at destruction were irrelevant. Yes, he could not directly destroy something with Genesis. But what happens when he recreates fire, lightning, water? What happens when he combines them into something more destructive than anything ever seen?

It wasn’t a matter of if, but a matter of when! That was how broken the synergy was, especially with First Principle and Genesis. "Hehe. This is the literal definition of a jackpot!"

Excitement coursed through his body like a storm. Adam did not know what to do with himself. There was like this fire in the bit of his stomach, unrelenting and unquenchable. The feeling was surreal.

With these aspects, he had awakened with the Third Genesis System; his evolution to the peak of power was all but guaranteed. Sure, he had questions about the strange system name, but that was only a matter of time.

Sooner or later, he would discover the origins of everything.

"I’ll have to start taking science very seriously." Adam suddenly sat up, his gaze thoughtful. "But where do I even start?"

There was so much to do; so much to learn.

Adam rushed to his desk, quickly turning on his computer to do some research. The holographic screen quickly popped out with a blue glow. Several messages popped out the moment the computer came online, but Adam ignored them. With deft fingers, he visited sites with various videos about abilities and martial arts.

The system he had just closed had a lot more to offer, but Adam was not in the right state to look at anything else at the moment; his mind still thinking his system was like any other system with a few more perks.

And he didn’t realise it at the time, but his movements and actions were so optimized for efficiency that it felt natural from the start.

Awakening with the kind of boost he got would have made anyone else clumsy and uncoordinated, their body an unfamiliar temple that needed readjusting. But Adam needed none of that. His physique was already working with fluid efficiency.

Back in the kitchen, his parents were still waiting with the cake and breakfast they had woken up to make for him. The plan had been simple. Adam would awaken, they would celebrate it with his birthday. Jon would then head to work and return later in the afternoon, when they would then go out to celebrate further.

But with how things had turned out, the plan was now void.

"Looks like we’ll be waiting for a while." Jon chuckled softly, not too surprised.

"Did he awaken a dual affinity or what?" Jenny turned to her husband, her curiosity overriding her worried state of mind.

"Something like that," the husband said smugly, his eyes lingering on the stairs. "You might have given birth to a genius, Jenny."

Jenny flashed a small smile filled with pride.

Adam was already smart to begin with. And with the little bit Jon gathered from his short conversation with his son, he was beginning to suspect that the boy’s system was more than it seemed.

’I’m gonna have to remind him again,’ he thought silently. ’An affinity called Genesis, huh.’

Jon had a few thoughts about what such a name could imply, and every possibility he could think of left him shocked. It left him uneasy, the invisible weight already pressing heavily on his shoulders.

’No good will come out of boasting about his system and awakened affinity.’

The sound of approaching footsteps pulled him out of his thoughts, directing his gaze to the staircase. "He’s finally decided to come down."
