Jian Yu found Chu Qianqian in the garden.

Her face was pale, but she was dressed to the nines, looking like a beautiful little butterfly.

A single glance told you she was a beauty who had never known hardship—someone cherished and doted upon.

Jian Yu subconsciously held her breath and softened her steps.

Before they even got close, Xi Mu stopped his massage.

He looked up at them.

He asked in surprise, "You just went out. How did you bring so many people back with you?"

Xi Mu’s gaze froze on Jian Yu’s face. "Baby?"

Jian Yu’s tense expression almost cracked.

Her palms grew sweaty as she offered an awkward greeting. "Hello, sir."

Xi Yu frowned and shot back, "Don’t call her Baby. That’s my name for her. She’s mine."

Stirred by the noise, Chu Qianqian slowly opened her eyes.

Her gentle gaze drifted over each of them in turn.

She sat up, the rocking chair swaying gently with the movement. "Did you bring friends over?"

Xi Yu said nothing and instantly teleported over to her.

He crouched down obediently. "Mother, I brought my Baby to see you. Her name is Jian Yu. She likes me a lot."

Chu Qianqian smiled and stroked his head. "I know. Your father told me. You didn’t even come to see me when you got back earlier."

Xi Yu knew his father was lying again. "You were sleeping, Mother. Father told me not to disturb you."

Xi Mu rubbed his nose, his gaze darting about guiltily.

To be polite, Jian Yu walked over and also crouched down, bringing herself to eye level with Chu Qianqian.

She opened her mouth to offer a proper greeting, but before she could speak, Chu Qianqian took her hand.

In the next moment, a warm bracelet was clasped around her wrist.

Chu Qianqian patted Jian Yu’s hand. "A little something for our first meeting. I hope you like it."

Jian Yu had never met anyone so outrageously generous.

A Space Bracelet. Inside were not only Beast Crystals and Beast Fruits of various Levels, but also all kinds of Beast Plant Potions.

In addition, there were clothes and jewelry—understated and exquisite pieces suitable for everyday wear.

"Thank you." Jian Yu blinked but accepted it nonetheless.

Her usual way of expressing gratitude was by offering emotional validation.

But her words still came out with a robotic quality. "I love it. These are all the things I’ve always wanted. Others will definitely be jealous of me when they find out."

Chu Qianqian let out a subtle sigh of relief. "I’m glad you like it. Ayue’s father and I prepared it together. We started getting it ready right after Ayue was born, just waiting for you to appear."

’She had thought it through carefully. If the person Xi Yu ended up with was an ordinary person, they could use these items to do favors, treat genetic diseases, or sell for cash.’

’If they were an Awakener, that would be even better. They could use these things to strengthen their body and purify their Soul Beast bloodline. With a bit of luck, they might even evolve and upgrade.’

The pain in her legs intensified every year, and Chu Qianqian worried she wouldn’t live to see the day.

She knew of Jian Yu, as she watched the competition livestreams every year.

At the time, she’d even thought Jian Yu had gotten together with Ayan.

Chu Qianqian’s eyes curved into crescents, but the corners were still unlined by wrinkles.

Beautiful people often look alike. Jian Yu couldn’t help but think of Ji Shiyin; he had the same cute, gentle smile.

"So, uh..." Xi Mu didn’t quite know who to look at.

He felt as if he were back in Xi Yu’s childhood, watching this familiar group of friends engage in expressionless beast fights.

"How did you all find the time to come over together?"

Xi Mu knew his son; after growing up, he rarely brought this many people home.

Especially since today was the first time he was introducing Jian Yu to them.

This was a very important day.

’His son really didn’t have his father’s romantic flair. He hadn’t inherited an ounce of his cleverness, either.’

Xi Yu answered succinctly, "To treat Mother’s legs."

Xi Mu, quick-witted as ever, immediately locked his reddened eyes onto Si Xu and Pei Yin.

His voice choked with emotion. "It seems your years of travel have been fruitful. Whichever of you can heal her, ask for anything, and I’ll grant it."

He was barking up the wrong tree.

"It’s not me." Si Xu’s gaze was placid as it shifted unhurriedly to Jian Yu.

Pei Yin, much more reserved in front of his elders, added, "Nor is it me."

He spoke slowly, recounting the events.

Xi Mu was incredulous but didn’t underestimate her.

He repeated his offer, as if copying and pasting his earlier words. "To have such an ability at your age is incredible. If you can heal her, I’ll grant you anything you desire."

Chu Qianqian shot him a chiding look. "What nonsense are you spouting."

She added reassuringly, "Please don’t feel burdened. I’m already used to it."

Jian Yu could sense the despondency about her. "I’ll do my best."

"Get up first," Ling Yanzhi said, pulling Jian Yu to her feet before her legs went numb from crouching too long.

Jian Yu had sent a message to Shi Zhao before coming, and he had already replied.

There were three messages.

Shi Zhao: The Holy Tree is alive! The Leader can wake up soon!

Shi Zhao: Little Leader, have you already Awakened!?

Shi Zhao: Oh, right, that’s how you heal it. I saw the Leader do it that way. Who are you trying to heal? Is it dangerous?

Jian Yu knew Shi Zhao had returned to his clan. After receiving a message from the Hui Clan, he had completed his exchange student procedures and taken a leave of absence to rush back.

It seemed the change must have been related to the Holy Tree.

Jian Yu came back to her senses and sent him a brief reply.

Steeling herself, she followed Chu Qianqian back to the treatment room.

Xi Mu helped Chu Qianqian lie down on the examination table.

He said, "Feel free to use any of this equipment or these medicinal ingredients."

Jian Yu retracted her gaze and lifted Chu Qianqian’s skirt slightly.

Seeing the love bites on her skin, Jian Yu’s hand froze in shock.

She turned her head and saw that Si Xu and the others were acting normally enough, all of them averting their eyes.

No wonder Pei Yin and Ling Yanzhi had quickly turned away when she reached for the legs earlier.

But of course, neither Xi Yu nor Xi Mu seemed to think anything was amiss.

Chu Qianqian merely pressed her lips together indulgently, her smile a mixture of bashfulness and embarrassment.

Jian Yu froze, then flexed her fingers. "I’m starting."

A cyan mist began to spread, gathering and swirling around the woman’s obviously atrophied legs.

The embarrassed flush on Chu Qianqian’s face instantly froze.

She caught a scent, a refreshing fragrance that was incredibly soothing.

The bone-deep, throbbing pain and the cramping in her tendons seemed to ease for an instant.

She closed her eyes, and her breathing became even.

Before she could even wonder if that fleeting comfort was just an illusion, she realized the pain in her legs had vanished.

Chu Qianqian stared at her legs in a daze, momentarily forgetting how to move.

This wasn’t the first time Si Xu had smelled this fragrance. He gently closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

Compared to today, the fragrance during those six days had seemed sweeter, richer, more viscous, and more maddening.

Pei Yin cursed him in a low voice, "You’re sick. Pervert."

His gaze shifted, only to see Xi Yu sniffing the air as well.

At this rate, it seemed he and Ling Yanzhi were the only ones exercising any restraint.

Xi Mu smelled it as well. "What is that scent?"

He glanced suspiciously out the window. "Have my purple orchids bloomed?"

The scent was pure, elegant, and quite fragrant.

He looked at Jian Yu, then at the treatment room, where the windows were clearly not open.

The source of the fragrance seemed to be the former.

Chu Qianqian recovered her senses and pushed herself up.

Her body swayed as she lowered her legs to the floor.

Xi Mu launched himself at her like a mad dog, smothering her in hugs and kisses.

Jian Yu averted her face. She now understood where Xi Yu had learned his ways.
