A form-fitting blue blouse, its collar slightly open to reveal delicate collarbones. The sleeves were rolled up halfway, a professional look touched with a hint of casual languor.
A high-waisted, hip-hugging skirt, its hemline resting ten centimeters above the knee, managed to be both professional and the perfect frame for her long, slender legs.
A simple platinum necklace graced her neck, and her earlobes were adorned with diamond studs. It was all understated yet exquisite. A rose gold watch on her wrist spoke to the taste of an elite professional woman.
Yang Hui knocked and entered.
"Have a seat. I’m just looking for a file."
With that, she turned and bent over to search for the file, her back to him. The hip-hugging skirt stretched taut. ’Damn, what an ass!’
He walked over and sat in the chair opposite her desk, admiring her voluptuous figure from behind.
A moment later, she straightened up, a document in hand and a slight frown on her face. But when she turned to smile at Yang Hui, the iciness in her eyes melted instantly. Her voice, gentle yet firm, was laced with a playful tone. "So, you finally decided to come see me."
"You say that like a scorned woman."
They were so familiar with each other that they could joke without reservation. Cheng Jun poured him a cup of tea and set it down in front of him.
A faint scent of jasmine mixed with a cool hint of cedar drifted from her, barely perceptible in the air.
Hers was not an overt sexiness. Instead, she concealed her allure beneath the sharp lines of her professional attire. Her every glance and movement exuded the unique charm of a mature woman.
Yang Hui glanced down at the skin of her legs, which was as white as snow and so smooth it seemed flawless. Under the bright office lights, she looked as if she were bathed in a soft-focus filter.
As if she knew him perfectly, Cheng Jun kicked off her left high heel and rested her foot on the edge of his chair.
"It’s been a while. Here, have a good look."
Yang Hui didn’t stand on ceremony. He placed a hand on her leg, sliding it under the hem of her skirt to knead her supple thigh.
"What made you decide to go to Futong Commerce?"
"What’s wrong with Futong Commerce? You sound like you’ve got a problem with them."
"Not really. It’s just that you knew everyone and everything at Ruijing Commerce. Your job was so easy. Now you’ve chosen to go to a new company where you have to start from scratch. And you’re only in charge of a single brand. I just don’t get what you’re thinking."
He smiled nonchalantly. "Work is just a way to pass the time. It’s the same wherever I go."
"Oh? If I didn’t know you came from some tiny village, I’d think you were a trust fund kid just experiencing life, not someone who needs a salary to get by."
He pulled his hand from under her skirt, and Cheng Jun drew her leg back. ’Any longer and I’ll lose control,’ he thought. This was an office, after all; someone could knock at any moment.
"So, I reported a few things to President Tian, and he agreed to all of them. For marketing support, we’ll do it like I used to at Ruijing Commerce—issue more customer spending vouchers. Also, the mall’s various promotional platforms will be used to publicize our event."
"Also, the Airex stores are currently operating at a loss. They need some rent relief. I did a quick calculation, and a one-month rent reduction per quarter would be enough for them to break even. That way, President Shan won’t have to bother you about pulling out of the mall, and everyone wins."
Cheng Jun shot him a look. "President Tian really does dote on you. I can’t believe he agreed to those terms. Since the founding of Xinyue Group, you’re probably the first person to get a rent reduction approved outside of standard corporate policy. And he actually said yes."
"I’ll handle the paperwork for you. With big shots like President Zhang and President Tian backing this, I’m not afraid of the corporate departments whining and complaining."
With their business concluded, Yang Hui prepared to leave. But first, he learned something from Cheng Jun: Xinyue Group had canceled all operational support for Ruijing Commerce and would not be renewing their contract when it expired at the end of the year.
The reason? Ruijing’s acting regional general manager had told people that Yang Hui was forced out of the company due to issues with his personal character.
This infuriated President Tian, which meant Ruijing Commerce was about to be in a world of hurt.
’I had no idea,’ Yang Hui thought. ’Brother Tian really looks out for me; he can’t stand anyone bad-mouthing me. It’s not just Ruijing Commerce that’s screwed now. If this is true, Fang Ming’s dream of becoming general manager is going up in smoke too.’
"You’re leaving just like that?"
Cheng Jun watched him get up to leave, a hint of dissatisfaction in her voice.
"Then how about a hug before I go?"
He turned and opened his arms. Cheng Jun’s wavy, chestnut-colored hair cascaded over her shoulders, the ends swaying gently as she walked toward him. A few stray locks playfully danced across her chest as she raised her arms to wrap them around his waist.
But he stopped her, pressing a hand to her shoulder and turning her around so her back was to him.
He embraced her from behind, his hand slipping down the V-neck of her blouse.
"I thought you’d forgotten about this place," she murmured.
His hands were busy, molding her as he pleased.
"Alright, I’m leaving."
Still wanting more, Cheng Jun pouted. "You’d better be free when I call you this weekend."
The workload at Xinyue Square was intense. For someone in Cheng Jun’s position, it was impossible to get everything done without working until ten o’clock every night.
She sometimes even had to work weekends. No wonder she often joked, "This isn’t a job, I’m selling my life away!"

「Futong Commerce」
The joint meeting with the NLB company didn’t end until 5:20 PM.
"Quick, take a bathroom break. We have an internal meeting at 5:40."
After giving the order, Li Yang was the first to leave the conference room, with Cai Miao right on his heels.
Dan Biao and Zhang Li had been taking notes all afternoon. This was their first chance to take a break.
He picked up his phone to quickly check and reply to any important messages. ’Once Li Yang starts a meeting,’ he thought, ’it’s guaranteed to last at least an hour.’
Dan Biao tapped through his messages one by one. When he saw the one from Yang Hui...
He shot to his feet, so agitated that he knocked his teacup to the floor. It shattered with a LOUD CRACK.
He said urgently, "Zhang Li, clean this up! I have to make a call!"
’Yang Hui! Brother Yang! You’ve really got some nerve!’
’A meeting called by President Li himself, and you’re just not going to attend? What is wrong with you?’
He rushed back to his office, closed the door, and dialed Yang Hui’s number.
"President Shan?"
"Yang Hui, get back to the office for this meeting, now!"
"I messaged you this afternoon. I’m not attending."
"I saw it! Do you even want a future at this company? You can’t just skip a meeting with President Li! You clearly don’t understand how serious this is."
"President Shan, it’s after hours. I have plans."
"What plans could possibly be more important than President Li’s meeting?"
"President Shan, I’ll cooperate with the company during my eight-hour workday. Anything outside of that is my personal time. And right now, anything is more important than his meeting!"
