Han Ning looked in the direction Qing Fan indicated. With his extraordinary vision, he could clearly see the academy’s logistics team, led by Dean Wu, slowly approaching Night Nether City under the protection of Da Yan and numerous Soul Beasts.

Before Dean Wu’s group arrived, the majority of the humans had been living in the Jade Forest, handling various logistical duties.

Not everyone enjoyed combat, learning the ways of the Alien Races, or possessed an adventurous spirit.

With no life-or-death crisis looming, most people just wanted to live a peaceful life.

Han Ning, Dean Wu, and the others had created a stable environment for these people, but in exchange, they were required to complete their assigned tasks each day.

For example: raising young Soul Beasts, planting newly developed hybrid crops, researching human technology and weapons, and integrating data for the migration plan.

Dean Wu’s current duties were to manage the daily assignments of the logistics personnel and assist the people in Night Nether City with support tasks.

Although they weren’t on the front lines, they still made enormous contributions.

Most Wood Type Soul Beasts have gentle temperaments. Common ones, like the Silver Lotus Wood, Cuiwei Tree Spirit, and Wind-Embracing Grass, are peaceful by nature and can gradually transform their surroundings.

Not all Soul Beasts could survive on Crystal Stones alone. Aside from plants and Spiritual Creatures, most Blood and Flesh Soul Beasts required a large daily intake of meat.

In theory, the stockpiled spirit fruits, vegetables, and other meat were enough to sustain the Soul Beasts for a while without them needing to hunt. But Han Ning was still worried, so he asked:

"What about the supplies? Without any hunting, how long can the provisions you and the Soul Beasts have prepared last?"

"According to our calculations, if we only consume without producing, we can guarantee about a two-month supply. That’s based on an average consumption rate for an Awakened Level Soul Beast of one Awakening Crystal Stone and thirty kilograms of prime meat every three days. The rate is similar across all Levels."

"Also, let me tell you about the number of Spirit Fruit Trees carried by the first batch of Soul Beasts..."

Spirit Fruit Trees were unique Spiritual Plants that grew in the Jade Forest or other places with Vigorous Wood Type Spiritual Energy. They produced delicious fruit that could sustain Soul Beasts. They were roughly equivalent to the Berry Trees in the Pokemon world, only without the various special effects; the main difference between fruits was simply the amount of Energy they contained.

Moreover, Spirit Fruit Trees could combine with Spiritual Energy of different Attributes and mutate, allowing them to produce fruit that met the needs of Soul Beasts of any given Attribute.

"The first to arrive are the Soul Beast clans from the southern and western parts of the Jade Forest, comprising 23 different species. The Three-Color Vine clan brought 102 Wood Type Spirit Fruit Trees and over 12,000 Spirit Fruits. The Sea Forest Flying Rat clan brought 702 Spirit Fruit Trees and over 20,000 Spirit Fruits... The clan that brought the most Spirit Trees and Spirit Fruits is the Purple Spot Tree Demons; they brought over 3,000 Spirit Fruit Trees and nearly 100,000 fruits."

"As for the meat, that’s being carried by the larger beasts of the forest..."

Han Ning was surprised that the ones who brought the most Spirit Fruits weren’t the overlords of the Jade Forest—the Green Dragon clan—but rather some unassuming, smaller beasts.
