"He wants us to wait?" Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan were both surprised to see this, but it didn’t take long for them to figure out what the Poison King was planning.
It was just that they didn’t think that the Poison King would tell them to wait for an opportunity.
It wasn’t as if the Poison King didn’t know that it was dangerous for him to remain inside of this cage for a long time. So in the end, they didn’t know what the Poison King was planning to do.
The guess that they had was that he wanted to use his poison to create some kind of distraction, but they didn’t think that it would be that effective. After all, the ones that were stuck in the cage with him were also elders just like him.
If they were that easily affected by his poison, then the balance of the sects would have tipped a long time ago.
So they didn’t know just what the Poison King was planning to do.
From what they could see, it didn’t seem like there was anything that was going to happen as all of the elders just acted the same way as before.
Even when one of the elders lost control and attacked the cage, it seemed like this was just like what happened previously. One could understand how they felt about being trapped in this cage, which would lead them to lose their temper like this.
But it turned out that it wasn’t that simple.
"Watch out, what are you doing?" Some of the other elders complained when the attacks came close to hitting them.
It was just that the elder that was going crazy didn’t seem to care about any of this as he continued his attacks. With the way that he released his attacks, it was as if there was some kind of invisible enemy that only he could see.
It was that enemy that he was completely focused on fighting right now.
But in the eyes of the others, they couldn’t see a single thing.
"Is he going crazy from being trapped in here for so long?" That was what the others were thinking as they looked at the elder sending out all of these attacks.
However, there was another elder that suddenly started releasing attacks as well.
The way that they acted, it was as if there was some kind of virus that was spreading among the elders. And it didn’t take long for another elder to catch this virus and start releasing attacks as well.
It seemed like all of them were seeing some kind of invisible enemy that no one else saw. At the same time, it didn’t seem like any of them were seeing the same enemy with how they released their attacks in different directions.
At first the other elders were thinking about how to deal with this since it was becoming more and more dangerous. But in the end, it seemed like all of the elders had fallen for the same thing.
"Is this what he meant?" Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan watching this couldn’t help revealing strange looks.
After all, it wasn’t as if this was a good situation for them to intervene.
If they were to release the cage now, all that would happen is that they might be hit with one of the attacks. There was no doubt that they were distracted, but the attacks that they sent were still real.
So it would be dangerous for them to open it to let the Poison King escape.
Xiao Mu on the other hand had a different reaction, it seemed like Xiao Mu was analyzing something with how it was looking at the inside of the cage.
The Poison King was a master of his art, it was at a level that far surpassed Xiao Mu’s own understanding. Even if Xiao Mu had been taught by one of the elders of the Dao Sect, it had only been taught the basics so far.
"It seems like I might be getting a junior disciple soon." Lin Fan couldn’t help thinking when he saw Xiao Mu like this.
While they were still thinking about what to do, the elders suddenly changed the way that they were acting. Instead of releasing even more attacks, they suddenly stopped attacking and looked at each other with tense looks.
Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan didn’t need any instructions to know that this was the time. Especially since they could already see that the Poison King had made it to the edge of the cage.
So while the elders were having this stare off, the Poison King was able to slip through the cage that had disappeared.
It only took a single thought from Lin Fan to open and close the cage, but it didn’t seem like any of the elders were aware of this. The only thing that they were focusing on was each other as if they were still seeing enemies.
After coming out, the Poison King didn’t say anything as he looked at Lin Fan to lead the way.
Lin Fan also knew what the Poison King was thinking, so he led the way back to the law enforcement pavilion.
The Poison King was certainly surprised to see them bringing him here, but he followed them inside without a single word since he trusted them.
It was a real demonstration of the power of the Poison King where he was able to resist the pressure inside of the law enforcement pavilion on his own. He didn’t need the help of Lin Fan’s token at all to resist this pressure.
But he was surprised when he saw the safe zone that they had carved out for themselves. This was without a doubt a large boon whether it was for them or for the elders.
Though the first thing that he had to do was also rest up so he could actually do something.
"Being in that cage was like being in a trap that slowly drained your energy away." That was how the Poison King described it, but it wasn’t as if they understood what he meant without actually going into the trap for themselves.
But in the end, the Poison King didn’t talk much about his experience in the trap.
Instead, there was something else that caught the Poison King’s attention.
It all started with Xiao Mu asking, "Was that a compound poison?"
The Poison King was a bit surprised to hear Xiao Mu ask this, but then he said with a smile, "It’s my own special compound poison. Are you interested?"
This was a side of his master that Lin Fan had never seen before, but that was because he didn’t cultivate the same cultivation technique as him. He knew that there wasn’t much that he could talk about when it came to poison with the Poison King, which was why he had never seen this look from him.
Xiao Mu gave a nod before saying, "It’s different from any compound that I’ve tried to make. It seems like there was some kind of special binding agent that helped them come together."
The Poison King gave a nod of approval when he heard this before saying, "That’s right, there’s a special compound that was used along with the poison to help them bind. Normal compounds won’t work since they would interfere with one kind of poison or the other, so that’s why I had to develop my own special compound."
Xiao Mu’s eyes were glowing with interest when it heard this.
It really seemed like Xiao Mu wanted to learn the recipe for this special compound from the Poison King, but that was where it stopped.
After all, this was a special secret recipe that the Poison King had developed through many hard years of trial. It wasn’t the kind of thing that could be passed down that easily, especially when the Poison King didn’t even know this person.
Though he treated Xiao Mu as one of the group, it wasn’t as if the Poison King fully trusted Xiao Mu since he didn’t know Xiao Mu’s identity. He just trusted that Xiao Mu was with Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan for a good reason.
Seeing the way that the Poison King stopped talking, Ye Qing Huan came forward to explain who Xiao Mu was.
That just made the Poison King take interest in Xiao Mu again.
Xiao Mu didn’t stop the Poison King from looking it over since it respected the Poison King as a master of the poison arts.
When the Poison King was done, he couldn’t help looking at Xiao Mu with even more amazement.
After all, the craftsmanship that went into making Xiao Mu was something that even he, as an elder of the Heavenly Demon Sect, had never seen before. The only thing that he could think was that this was craftsmanship worthy of the Dao Sect.
But since there was a binding contract between Xiao Mu and Ye Qing Huan, he was less worried about it and turned his attention back to this room.
"How did you manage to find this place?"
After all, this was something that none of the elders had been able to accomplish even after they had spent so much time exploring these ruins. Yet these three had been able to establish something like this in what was just a few days.
"It’s a long story." Lin Fan said with a sigh, but he still started telling the Poison King what had happened.
