When Leon opened his eyes, he was briefly stunned. His surroundings appeared exceptionally clear to his senses, as if someone had suddenly increased the resolution of the world.

Turning to the side, he found Selene looking at him with a tired gaze. It was obvious that she was exhausted and needed sleep.

Before he could say anything, she beat him to it.

"Can I borrow your bed?"

’Huh?’

Leon was stunned, then he slowly nodded. It seemed that seeing him awake had finally allowed her exhaustion to take over.

As soon as he stood up, she lunged at the bed and collapsed on the soft mattress like a sack of potatoes.

Leon’s lips twitched, but he didn’t complain. Instead, he switched to the chair which she had been sitting in, trying to ignore the lingering warmth on it.

’Time to check it all.’

[You have completely evolved into a Tier One Entity!]

[Your Origin grows stronger!]

[As a result of the Origin you have absorbed, you have gained +179 Strength points, +189 Stamina points, +211 Agility points, and +225 Mana points!]

[You have leveled up to Level 50! +169 Stat points gained!]

[You can finally choose your class!]

[Options — ]

[1. Vanguard Berserker]

[2. Darkness Addict]

[3. Shadow Magus]

[4. Assassin Priest]

Leon’s gaze turned heated as he checked the messages line by line. When he reached his stat boost, he almost shouted ’Holy shit!’, but restrained himself.

As much as he was excited, he didn’t want to disturb Selene’s sleep.

’But hell, more than 100 points in each stat? That’s broken.’

He had killed multiple Tier One beasts while still unranked and contributed to the deaths of two Tier Two creatures. It seemed the Star Stream had decided to reward him accordingly.

’I guess it was worth it, then.’

Suppressing a grin, he looked at his class options and turned serious.

’Vanguard Berserker? Seems like it’s related to my... ah, my deceased weapon.’

Closing his eyes, he quietly mourned the destroyed weapon, then continued checking his options.

’Darkness Addict? Sounds like something belonging to a madman. Nah.’

Shaking his head, his gaze slid over to the third option, and he grew interested.

’Shadow Magus... now that’s something powerful,’ He smiled, but didn’t choose it immediately. He checked his last option, then tilted his head.

’Is that because of Thyra’s ability and that premonition ability?’

Unknown to him, his guess was correct. But he didn’t linger on it for long. Calming his nerves, he prepared to choose the Shadow Magus, then froze.

’Huh? This...’

His head throbbed, and he could almost hear a voice screaming at him with inaudible words.

Dark...ess!

"Ugh..."

Grunting in discomfort, Leon’s gaze shifted back to the second option, and he stared hard. At this point, his body was trembling, and something deep within him seemed to be urging him to choose that option.

’A gut feeling?’

Still confused, he eventually gave up and chose the Darkness Addict. Instantly, the class information was revealed to him.

[Class: Darkness Addict - A warrior who manipulates darkness as a form of magic, using it to strengthen the body, empower weapons, create constructs, alter movement, and unleash destructive techniques]

[You have learned the Skill - Dark Matter]

[You have learned the Skill - Shadow Execution]

[You have learned the Skill - Shadow Mantle]

[You have learned the Skill - Darkness Descent]

Instantly, Leon’s expression turned serious.

[Skill: Dark Matter - Condenses an immense amount of darkness into a highly unstable sphere that violently expands at the user’s command, unleashing a devastating explosion of corrosive darkness]

[Skill: Shadow Execution - Attacks the shadow of a target within range. Any damage inflicted upon the target’s shadow is partially transferred to its soul and body]

[Skill: Shadow Mantle - Wraps the user’s body in darkness, causing incoming attacks to partially sink into the shadows and reducing the damage dealt to the user’s body]

[Skill: Darkness Descent - Covers a large area in darkness, greatly enhancing the user’s shadow-related abilities while impairing the senses of enemies within the area]

’Crazy...’

Leon’s jaw clenched tightly as he checked the four skills. They were... perfect. The last three skills were stunning, but the first left him feeling awkward.

He had used that skill, and it had knocked him unconscious—

’Wait. How did we get here?’

His eyes widened, and he reflexively glanced at Selene. The young lady was already asleep.

"Thyra? Where’s Thyra?"

She had been with him during the fight, so where was she now? He knew she wasn’t the type to simply disappear when something this important was happening.

Taking a deep breath to calm himself, he frowned and began to think logically. It was impossible for Selene to have been the one who saved the two of them from the blast zone.

Even though he hadn’t witnessed the full power of his own attack, he knew the silver-haired lady wouldn’t be able to escape it.

Two powerful creatures had died to it, after all.

’Then... could it be her...?’

His thoughts drifted back to Thyra, and he remembered the time he had fought his first Tier One opponent. She was the one who had carried him inside the dorm, waiting until he woke up.

’If she did the same this time, then...’

His expression slowly hardened, and he came to the right conclusion.

’The Star Stream... punished her?’

Although he was asking himself, he understood why. The last time she had carried him, there was no imminent danger, so her interference could be overlooked.

Now, however, she had really saved him from death—Selene too. There was no way the Star Stream was going to let her off that easily.

’So that’s it, huh...’

He closed his eyes and reclined into the chair, a solemn silence surrounding him. He knew Thyra wasn’t dead, as he could still feel his connection to her.

However, now that he was focused, he could tell that her presence had become as faint as a matchstick’s dying flame.

’I...’

His eyes opened, revealing nothing but deep, impenetrable darkness. His body relaxed, and he swore a silent oath in his heart. Thyra was still alive, and he believed she would eventually recover.

’Now, then...’
