"Thyra?"

Leon abruptly interrupted Gwen, stepping closer to her.

"You said you saw a soul... inside me. Is that true?"

Gwen hadn’t expected him to react this way, as she thought he wasn’t aware about it.

"Yes. Is that soul Thyra?"

She didn’t know who Thyra was, but it must be someone very important to Leon.

He exhaled slowly, then sat beside her.

"Yes, it’s Thyra. She... well, she’s my naughty ghost companion. Something happened and she got injured," He turned to her. "You mentioned that her soul was weak. Is there anything I can do to help?"

Gwen didn’t answer immediately, trying to process what he had just said.

’A ghost companion? He once mentioned hugging his ghost girlfriend. Was that... true?’

"Gwen?"

His voice snapped her back to reality, and she nodded to his previous question.

"I can help actually. My main ability is good at attacking or nurturing souls. So as long as I have mana, I can help her regain her strength."

Leon’s eyes widened, and he immediately pulled Gwen into a hug.

"Thank goodness! You’re really heaven-sent, haha!"

He was truly delighted, and he looked at her with a bright smile he had never shown since the apocalypse started.

"Thank you, Gwen," He said. "But, uh... how’re you going to do it? And... do you want something in return?"

Gwen’s eyes glinted as she thought of something, but she immediately discarded the idea. If she wanted to win his heart, it had to be fair and square.

"It’s fine. It’s not like using my ability is a big deal, anyway," She said courteously, her smile gentle.

Leon shook his head and said, "No, I simply can’t accept this without paying you back. If you need anything from me in the future, as long as it doesn’t involve something too bad, I promise to do it."

Gwen’s eyes narrowed, and she pouted. "Too bad? What if I want you to kill the president?"

"Fine by me," Leon shrugged. "I’m sure you have your reasons."

Gwen was slightly surprised and chuckled. "Alright, I’ll keep it in mind."

"Good. Let’s get started, then." He turned to face her, but then paused. "Uh... how would you do that?"

She closed her eyes and thought about it. A mischievous idea came to her, and after careful consideration, she decided to go with it.

’Yeah, this kind of payment should suffice for now.’

"You’ll need to... take off your shirt," She said shyly, her cheeks red.

Leon blinked in surprise, caught off guard.

’Take off my shirt? She isn’t going to mention the yin-yang bullshit Thyra said the other day, right?’ He thought nervously.

"Uh... why?"

Gwen blushed harder, but easily came up with an excuse. "I need direct contact with your body. The closer I am to your heart, the easier it will be to reach the soul."

Her explanation made sense, and Leon nodded in agreement.

Although a bit embarrassed, he still took off his shirt and turned to face her.

Gwen stared at his bare torso for a moment, then placed her hands on his chest.

Her eyes widened slightly, and she was tempted to lean in and hug him. However, she held back and became serious.

Her ability activated, and ghostly green flames erupted from her hands.

Leon felt a soothing sensation spread through his body, and he unconsciously relaxed. Still, his heart thudded with excitement as he thought about Thyra being fully healed.

Leon put on his shirt, then stood up.

The young woman nodded, watching him leave her room with a small smile.

Once he was gone, she buried her face in her hands and started blushing, giggling and turning on the bed.

Meanwhile, Leon walked around the villa for a while, then found himself standing before the door of Marie’s room.

’Huh? What am I doing here?’

He had been intending to go to his own room after discarding the bottle of coke, yet he didn’t realize that he had come somewhere else instead.

Just as he turned around, he saw Marie and Nora approaching.

’Oh well, my fate is sealed. Sorry, room. But I’m not coming tonight.’

Nora immediately ran over to him, her eyes bright.

"Daddy!"

Leon lifted her off the ground and hugged her, poking her plump cheeks.

"Hello, princess. Where are you coming from?"

She replied with a giggle and said, "Mommy took me to see Swampy. He’s a good pet."

Leon’s lips twitched, and he felt amazed. Perhaps only Nora could see such a monster and call it a pet. Perhaps, Richard too, but he was out of the equation.

He nodded and turned to Marie. "How’re you feeling now?"

The woman smiled gently. "I’m feeling good. Fel’s abilities are no jokes."

Leon wholeheartedly agreed with her and opened his mouth to speak.

However, Nora beat him to it. "Daddy, are you staying with us tonight?"

Leon and Marie exchanged glances, then he nodded. It wasn’t as though he hadn’t expected this.

He carried the little girl into the room, with Marie walking behind him. After changing into nightwear, they all lay on the big bed with their usual arrangement.

Leon slept in the middle, with the mother and daughter clinging to him on both sides.

’Am I... now a family man?’
