A mutated crow cawed loudly, then flapped its wings and took to the air. It circled above the streets, cawing to call its mates over.

Before long, a flock of crows were circling overhead, their beady red eyes sharp with anticipation.

"Ominous," Someone muttered, glancing at the crows with a frown.

The army of Evolvers continued to march forward, approaching the market that had now become a zombie nest.

"They’re already aware of our presence," Bliss said with a serious expression. "Be prepared."

Beside her, Leon nodded flatly. If it were on a normal day, he would have made a joke about how they should be riding horses toward the battlefield.

However, something was strange about him today, and even Bliss noticed. Perhaps he had received news of the death of a loved one or something—she wasn’t sure.

Soon, they could all hear the snarls of the zombies rushing towards them from the distance.

Bliss immediately straightened and raised her battle-axe.

"Formation!"

The Evolvers behind her immediately began arranging themselves into a tight and deadly formation with shield-bearers at the front and polearm users right behind them.

Leon didn’t even spare them a glance. With a casual voice, he said to his men, "Kill."

They responded with thunderous cheers and rushed forward to meet the horde with Leon leading the way.

Bliss and Arnold were surprised by how aggressive Leon’s forces were, and they had to adjust. Still keeping their formation, they also rushed forward to engage the zombies.

Soon, blades tore into flesh and claws scratched against armor in hopes of delivering grievous wounds.

Leon swept his spear in a wide arc, cleaving the heads of several zombies in a single move. Beside him, Selene skated on ice, shooting ice spikes and bullets at the zombies with practiced precision.

Reymond moved faster than her, flashing in and out of the horde with the silhouette of a blue lightning serpent coiling around him. Every one of his strikes was augmented by lightning, not only cutting into zombie flesh but charring the wounds and stunning the zombies too.

Miguel was even more direct. He kept swinging his warhammer, smashing zombies to pulp and charging forward like a bull. He would have looked like a perfectly normal person if not for the wild grin on his face.

As for Cassie, she had simply disappeared, slipping into stealth mode as she silently took out the stronger zombies.

None of the vanguard zombies were Tier One, so they were easy to slaughter. Cassie, however, wasn’t ready to settle for that. She ventured deeper, picking out the Tier One zombies one after the other and collecting their soul crystals.

Gwen stayed behind with Fel to protect the healer while she focused on supporting the members of the main group with her healing abilities.

Although zombie scratches and bites could barely harm them at this level, it was better to heal the wounds early.

Bliss watched in amazement as the Titanbreaker Legion decimated the zombies as if swatting flies out of the air.

Her own army had barely gotten a chance to contribute.

Beside her, Arnold’s eyes narrowed. "They’re strong, but we can only confirm once that zombie sends out her personal guards."

Bliss nodded and rushed forward, joining the battle. Her presence was immediately felt, as several zombies died to a single swing of her weapon.

She hadn’t used any skills or abilities, yet almost a hundred zombies had already been killed by her in less than a minute.

Leon gave her a sidelong glance, then paused. He could sense something coming his way, and he immediately turned towards it.

Soon, the zombie revealed itself with lengthy sharp claws reaching for his head.

Disappointed, he struck at its head with his spear.

Pop!

The Tier One Killer zombie’s head exploded, and it dropped to the ground before it could reach him. Leon caught its soul crystal and stored it away.

He glanced at the other zombies mindlessly rushing at him and gave a command to the shadows. Shadow spears rose from the ground and skewered the zombies, killing over a hundred in a single move.

He stepped over the corpses and advanced with a calm expression.

Selene skated over to his side, glancing at their surroundings.

"She probably noticed that her cannon fodders were dying too quickly. Now, she’s sending in the strong ones."

As she said this, she raised her hand and fired a thick ice spike at a hulking Tier One zombie, making a large hole through its chest. The zombie didn’t die from the injury, but couldn’t move as its entire body froze up. Heavy and unbalanced, it tilted forward and fell to the ground, shattering into pieces.

Leon glanced at Selene and said, "She’s smart. But she doesn’t seem as smart as that Manhattan Zombie King."

He turned to look at Mark who was utterly decimating zombies along with his squad members.

"Let’s go. We have to cripple her before he can use that seal."

Selene nodded and watched as white light enveloped him, and he vanished from the spot.

’Teleportation? When did he get that?’

Her eyes narrowed, but she didn’t dwell on the mystery. She turned to Reymond and said, "We’ll be leaving the Tier One zombies to you and Miguel. Don’t let any of the warriors die."

The young man nodded with a serious expression, taking a deep breath as he charged into the zombie horde, targeting the Tier One zombies this time.

Selene turned away from him and looked towards Bliss. The young woman was also staring at her, and they nodded to each other.

Immediately after, Selene directly skated over the zombies, moving deeper into the horde where Leon was already carving a bloody path through the Tier One zombies protecting their queen.

Bliss watched her go and turned to Arnold. "I’ll be leaving the command of our forces in your hands."

The middle-aged man nodded as he beheaded a zombie.

Bliss took a deep breath and stomped on the ground, charging forward in a single step. The air before her folded, turning into a shield that pushed aside zombies blocking her path.

Before long, the top strongest fighters gathered at the same location, pressing against the main forces of the Zombie Queen.

The real battle had just begun.
