The once-silent market now echoed with the sound of battles. Humans killed zombies, piling corpses at their feet while the zombies threw themselves at their enemies without caring for their lives.

They felt neither pain nor emotion—only the desire to kill and devour. To humans, they were nightmares.

To the Titanbreaker Legion, they were weeds that needed to be cut. Every warrior in the legion had spent a week with Marie in the Mutated forest where they were tempered like iron in a forge.

To them, mutated beasts were scarier than these zombies who attacked without thinking. They had killed several mutated beasts stronger than them just to reach the peak of Level 25.

Everyone had their stats capped at hundred, with none less than ninety-eight. When Marie referred to them as the cream of the crop, she hadn’t been bluffing.

Coupled with the compatible abilities and traits that were granted to them by Leon, they became dreadful foes for even Tier One creatures. Against creatures at the same level as them, they were monsters.

The unranked zombies tried to wear them down with numbers but it barely mattered. The Titanbreaker Legion remained stalwart, facing the onslaught of the zombies like an immovable rock against a raging river.

On the other hand, the members of the Bayonne Camp army were struggling to face the zombies. Although some of them had stepped into Tier One like Mark’s squad, they still could not handle the pressure of a seemingly endless horde.

Arnold’s brows furrowed, and he glanced at the Titanbreaker Legion. They barely held any formation, yet they had no losses. It felt as if they were running on inexhaustible fuel.

"Turtle Formation! Center around the injured!"

His loud voice boomed over the sound of battle, and the Evolvers quickly gathered behind him. The injured ones were placed in the center of the formation where the healers treated their wounds and ensured they could continue to fight.

The losses immediately reduced, but Arnold was still worried.

’I hope they can take her down before her army eventually overwhelms us.’

He tried to look deeper into the market area, but the dense number of zombies made him fail. Still, he could sense the cataclysmic battle shaking the air from that area.

At the heart of the battle, four humans faced four elite zombies while the Zombie Queen hid from plain sight.

Bang!

Leon’s spear shattered one layer of the leading zombie’s armor, pushing it back by a few steps. However, he wasn’t pleased in the slightest. From behind his opponent, another skinny zombie hurled a corpse at the first zombie.

The zombie whose armor had just shattered immediately grabbed the corpse and melted it. Flesh flowed onto its skin like liquid metal, hardening into another thick layer of armor.

Seeing this, Bliss was unsurprised. She glanced at Leon and calmly explained.

"Just as you have seen, it can absorb flesh to rebuild its armor, which makes it a tiring foe. We can only try to injure it faster than it can reconstruct an armor, but that skinny zombie is being crafty."

Leon turned his black eyes toward the skinny zombie, staring at it coldly.

"Handle this one for a while," He said to Bliss.

Before she could ask what he was going to do, Leon was covered in a white flash of light, and he disappeared.

He reappeared before the skinny zombie, his spear already moving to pierce its skull while it desperately constructed a shield made from strings to defend itself.

Bliss didn’t have the luxury to watch any further. The burly zombie with annoying flesh armor was already upon her.

Tightening her grip on her battle-axe, she swung at its chest with all her strength.

Bang!

The zombie was pushed back, its armor shattering again. Another layer was revealed underneath, and Bliss moved to attack that layer too.

Not far from her, Selene dealt with two annoying zombies that were strangely difficult to kill. She slid back slightly, her golden crown glinting as she used her necklace to speed up her mana recovery.

Time and again, the Tier Two equipment had proved to be useful to her, and Selene didn’t regret choosing it.

She raised her sword and looked at the two zombies. Then, she slashed at them. A wave of ice erupted from her blade, curving towards them like a deadly projectile.

The zombies reacted quickly. One of them immediately stuck its hands into the ground, raising a wall of hardened sand and rocks to block the Glacial Edge attack.

However, Selene wasn’t going to be delayed by the same familiar trick. The moment the zombie started constructing the wall, she activated Frozen Steps and skated around the wall, appearing right behind the two zombies.

The other zombie immediately turned around and attacked her with a bone club gotten from the leg bone of a powerful mutated beast.

Selene smoothly dodged, her eyes narrowing as she saw how the club cracked the ground where she had been standing.

’If that thing had hit my head...’

She didn’t bother continuing the thought. Instead, she focused on attacking the distracted zombie. It had barely turned when the cold edge of her blade pressed against its neck.

Slice!

She smoothly beheaded it, then created a thick ice shield on her right.

Bang!

The other zombie’s bone club smashed against her shield, causing it to crack and shatter. Selene retreated slightly, her gaze solemn as she looked at the huge zombie.

Its strength was unnatural for a Tier One, enough to make her not want to risk crossing weapons with it.

’Is that its ability?’

She wasn’t going to have issues with it, though. Since the other troublesome one was dead, she could deal with this zombie.

Maintaining distance from it, she fired ice bullets that impacted its tough skin and shattered, unable to deal any serious wounds.

She didn’t stop and kept shooting the bullets while the zombie tried to chase her. Soon, every part of its body had been impacted by the ice bullets that seemingly dealt no damage.

"Spread."

Selene said as she pointed at the zombie. The ice shards still clinging to its skin expanded rapidly, burrowing into its body and encasing the zombie in a layer of ice.

Its body froze solid, and it immediately began struggling to break free. The ice on its body began to crack and fall off. However, before it could truly regain mobility, Selene moved in and chopped off its head.
