World Evolution: Starting With The Wind Monarch

Chapter 26: Against A Rank One Evolver (Part 2)

"I don’t know where all of you got the courage to move without my permission," Mike, the third slave trader said as he slapped a boy who looked to be about nine years old.

Thud!

Although Mike had used only a portion of his strength, it was still not something a young child could resist, and the boy fell to the ground, blood trickling from his mouth.

Although the boy felt a sharp pain throughout his face, he didn’t let out a scream and simply cried silently because he knew that if he made any noise, this twisted bastard would beat him even more.

Besides the boy, two more children were crying silently, including the girl who had warned Anna and William about the kidnappers.

Like the boy, they were also only eight or nine years old.

After Mike had been blinded and the other two slave traders had chased after William and Anna, the three children had tried to run away.

However, they weren’t able to get far before Mike regained his vision and easily caught them with his Rank One strength.

Mike was already frustrated after being played by William and Anna, so he didn’t hesitate to vent his anger on these helpless children.

But instead of feeling refreshed like he usually did after beating helpless kids, Mike only became more frustrated because none of the children were screaming or begging him to stop.

He wanted them to grovel at his feet so that he could feel a sense of superiority, but they simply cried silently without letting out a single scream.

Because he still needed to sell these children, he couldn’t use too much force on them. If he did and broke their bones or injured them severely, their price would drop, and he didn’t want that.

Mike waited for the other two slave traders to return.

But as time passed, his frustration continued to grow, and he finally couldn’t endure it anymore.

He looked at the weeping children with a sinister expression before walking toward the girl who had warned Anna and William.

"You were the one who warned those two brats and allowed them to run away. If it wasn’t because of you, I wouldn’t have to waste my time here."

The girl looked at the approaching Mike with horror-filled eyes and took a step backward out of fear.

Seeing the fearful expression on the girl’s face, Mike finally felt the thrill he had been looking for.

"Do you think you can escape?"

Seeing the girl slowly backing away, Mike spoke with a smile and the next instant, the girl stopped moving.

A heavy pressure suddenly engulfed her, making her gasp for breath as tears continued to fall from her eyes.

Mike was a Rank One Evolver, and his aura wasn’t something a young child like her could withstand.

Seeing her gasping for breath with tears streaming down her face, Mike laughed and increased the intensity of his aura.

The girl felt as if a heavy mountain were pressing down on her. Her head began to spin, and blood started flowing from her nose.

"This is it... This is what I wanted."

Seeing the girl looking at him with a pleading expression, Mike laughed even louder, looking like a complete psychopath.

The girl felt the world around her spinning, and just as she was about to pass out, the heavy pressure on her suddenly disappeared.

At the same time, Mike felt a cold killing intent coming from behind him and quickly turned around.

The instant he turned around, the first thing that entered his view was a fist glowing with green light, rapidly enlarging in his pupils.

Mike only had enough time to cross both hands in front of his face before the fist struck him.

BOOOOOOM!

A booming sound echoed through the surroundings, and his body was sent flying backward as if he had been hit by a giant bull.

Bang!

He flew for more than ten meters before crashing against a tree and finally coming to a stop.

Cough!

Mike coughed out a mouthful of blood and felt a sharp pain in both of his arms, as if they had been struck by an iron hammer.

Evan ignored Mike after sending him flying and quickly went to the girl, who was gasping for breath on the ground.

As he came closer to her, Evan saw that she was already bleeding from her mouth, eyes, and nose.

He placed his hand on her head, and a very small amount of mana slowly entered her body through his hand, gently regulating the chaotic flow of blood throughout her body.

As her blood flow stabilized, her breathing finally returned to normal and she stopped bleeding.

Noticing her condition improving, Evan wiped the blood from her eyes and spoke gently.

"Don’t worry about anything and just sleep."

Hearing Evan’s gentle voice, the girl couldn’t hold on any longer and finally lost consciousness.

Seeing her unconscious state, Evan recalled his younger self, who had also once been captured by a slave trader, and his eyes gradually turned cold.

He picked up the girl and walked toward Anna and William, who had already saved the other two children.

He handed the unconscious girl to Anna and spoke in a faint voice.

"You guys go ahead and inform the guards about everything. I will handle things here."

"Be careful, and immediately run away if you can’t handle him," William reminded him and was about to leave when they suddenly heard the sound of clapping.

Evan glanced to the side with a cold look and saw that Mike had already stood up.

Surprisingly, he didn’t appear to be injured from Evan’s earlier attack.

"Do you really think you can leave simply because you want to?" Mike said with a smile, although his heart was burning with intense anger.

This was the second time today that someone had successfully attacked him without him being able to react.

William and Anna quickly moved the children behind themselves and looked at Mike warily.

However, Evan’s expression didn’t change at Mike’s words, and he spoke calmly.

"Don’t worry about him. Just go ahead. He won’t be able to get in your way."

Anna and William looked at each other before nodding.

"Be careful," Anna said to Evan before she started walking away with William and the children.

"You really don’t take me seriously, do you?"

Mike couldn’t help but laugh angrily when he saw this.

Several Ice Bullets appeared around him and shot toward Anna and William at astonishing speed.

However, before the Ice Bullets could reach them, a Wind Barrier suddenly appeared between the projectiles and them.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The Ice Bullets collided with the Wind Barrier, making it ripple violently, but in the end, they were unable to pierce through it.

"How is this possible?"

Mike’s eyes widened in disbelief when he saw this as hehad never thought that Evan would be able to stop his attacks.

He could clearly sense that the other party was only a Level 20 Evolver, not even at the peak of the Unranked realm.

Earlier, he had thought Evan was able to successfully land a hit on him because he had been caught off guard.

But now, he felt that things were not so simple.

Although he was stunned, he knew he couldn’t let William and Anna get away, or things would become very complicated.

Since he couldn’t break the Wind Barrier with ice bullets, he immediately decided to capture William and Anna himself.

However, he had only taken one step forward to chase after them when he suddenly felt a chill run down his spine and quickly stepped to the side.

Woosh!

A Wind Bullet grazed past his body and disappeared into the forest behind him.

"You better start paying attention to me, or you will lose without even realizing how."

Evan’s cold voice reached Mike’s ears.

When Mike looked at him, his pupils contracted to the size of needles.

At this moment, Evan’s entire body was enveloped in Wind Aura.

Although Mike could tell that Evan was only Level 20, the aura emitting from Evan’s body was in no way inferior to his own.

In fact, it even showed signs of surpassing his.

’What in the world is wrong with this bastard? Why does he seem even stronger than me?’
